Sustainable Food Asia participated in the Research & Innovation Forum "Realizing Well-being in ASEAN Through Advanced Sustainable Food Asia participated in the Research & Innovation Forum "Realizing Well-being in ASEAN Through Advanced Technologies" held at Sunway University in Malaysia on November 19, 2024.
THE EVENT SHOWCASED INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO HEALTH CHALLENGES FACING THE ASEAN REGION.
Our Sustainable Food Asia Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia Branch) Director, Boon Lee Cheam, spoke about the growing number of lifestyle-related diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and hypertension that are becoming more serious in Malaysia. He emphasized the need for sustainable health solutions to address these challenges and suggested strategies through education and improved diet.
Suzuki, CEO of Regenesome Inc. also presented on exosome-based therapies and sustainable medical approaches utilizing materials derived from microalgae. Many other speakers, including Masakatsu Shiotsuka of JAST and Professor Goh Bay Hing of Sunway University, shared valuable insights on healthcare innovation and functional food research.
In addition, a student competition called "Innovate for Longevity" was also presented at the forum, giving students the opportunity to devise solutions to achieve healthy and longevity. The event served as a platform to promote cross-border collaboration and showcase innovative ideas for a healthier future in the ASEAN region.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Professor Goh Bee Hin and Dr. Tan Alan San Loon of Sunway University's School of Medicine and Life Sciences for hosting this forum. Through this event, we had the opportunity to publicize the Sunway Group's research and development efforts for a healthy future.
