On September 15, 2023, a meeting was held at the "Sustainable Food Museum" in Nishi-Shinbashi, Tokyo, to exchange information and opinions on the potential of food tech and agri-tech in Japan and abroad, the direction of government support, and the latest market situation.


Sustainable Food Asia K.K. ("SFA"), in collaboration with the Urban Renaissance Agency ("UR Urban Renaissance Agency"), opened the Sustainable Food Museum on June 12, 2023 as part of its efforts to promote open innovation in the Shinbashi/Toranomon area. The "Sustainable Food Museum" opened on June 12, 2023 to exhibit and introduce new ideas and services of various companies, including startups in the food tech field.


At this meeting, the participants exchanged information and opinions on the further development of the Japanese food industry, the overseas development of Japanese food from Japan, and the government's support for the overseas development of Japanese food, as well as trends and issues in agri-food tech, as the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has begun to focus on the food tech field, including the launch of the Food Tech Public-Private Partnership Council. The participants exchanged information and opinions on trends and issues in agri-food tech. The participants also had the opportunity to experience new food tech-related materials developed with new technologies, such as a tasting of shigure-ni-niki, a new material made from jackfruit called "fruit meat".
