SCIENCE CASTLE is one of Asia's largest academic conferences for junior and senior high school students engaged in research activities to help them discover, deepen, and communicate their own questions to society. SCIENCE CASTLE was launched in Japan in 2012 by LIVERNESS Corporation, and has now expanded not only in Japan but also in other Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, where research exchanges across national borders are taking place. At this conference, research in a wide range of fields including biology, chemistry, engineering, environment, and food is presented, providing a venue for contact with diverse stakeholders such as companies, universities, and research institutions.

At the "SCIENCE CASTLE in Malaysia 2025" held on July 31, a large number of research teams, mainly middle and high school students from Malaysia, participated and presented the results of their diverse explorations under the theme of "using science and technology to tackle social issues. Many of the presentations linked science to familiar issues such as food loss, insect eating, utilization of local resources, environmental conservation, and biodiversity, and each team conducted research from a unique perspective to solve problems. In addition, students, educators, companies, and university researchers gathered together not only to present their research, but also to engage in interactive exchanges through booth exhibits, critiques, and workshops, providing an opportunity for international learning and dissemination.

SFA selected the SMK Lingga team as one of the teams to tackle social issues in food from among the poster presentations this year.
